Exploring Western Australia (Kalbarri NP, The Pinnacles, Margaret River)

10 Nights left on our trip we traveled 5 hours south to Kalbarri National Park.  I was really looking forward to our next destination as I knew about Kalbarri being great place to visit. The next 5 hours of our journey i spent reading the big Kalbarri brochure and the more i read the more excited i got. The Kalbarri town (population 1300)  is 6hrs from Perth and is located at the mouth of the Murchison River. This national park with its spectacular scenery offers many things to see and do such as the Coastal Cliffs (Red Bluff, Mushroom Rock, Natural Bridge…), River Gorges (Hawk’s Head, The Loop, Z-Bend…), Canoeing, hiking, horse riding, fishing and relaxing! We were staying in the Murchinson Caravan Park http://www.murcp.com/ . It was the nicest cleanest caravan park I have ever been in. Great place to stay – Highly recommended.

After 4 nights at Kalbarri we again had to say good bye, start up the campervan and hit the road  – Next stop the Pinnacles, Nambung national park.

With 6 Nights left of our trip we drove 4 hours down the coast to the town of Cervantes (population 500) which is near the Pinnacles in Nambung national park. We stayed at a caravan park in Cervantes. There is not much else to do in the area apart from visit the Pinnacles, so normaly 1 night would be enough, but we decided to stay for 2 because we wanted to give ourselves a better chance of seeing a nice sunset.

The Pinnacles, WAIt’s believed the Pinnacles were created millions of years ago as seashells were broken down into sand and then eroded by water and wind.

4 Nigts left on our trip, we decided to go and stay at the  Margaret river pretty much at the last minute.

Margaret River (population 4500) and located  in the south west of WA  277km from Perth. Popular for its top-notch wining and dining, cosmopolitan lifestyle and spectacular caves. When we arrived to MG we quickly booked in to our new campsite and walked back to the town in anticipation to try all the delicous food and wine. We were so happy to choose this place as our last destination. It was perfect! Very pleasant town with great atmosphere.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. We had a blast and are so keen to return one day in the future.

I must say this was my favourite traveling holiday, the amazing diversitiy of landscapes, the lonely and abundant feeling of the outback, the extrodinary wildlife and so much more, Western Australia is a delight for those who want to explore. You can wonder along the beach for hours without seeing a footprint and driving mind-boggling distances can be challenging, but the rewards are obvious. So what are you waiting for ?!

I will be posting a video from WA as my last post soon, untill then….ADIOS
